On Friday afternoon, I was on the phone with the legendary musician and songwriter David. “David Crosby: Remember My Name” is a portrait of the 77-year-old musician as he lives and breathes (by some miracle) today, warts and all, and if not unapologetic, not really very apologetic.

David Crosby has given some background on his feud with longtime musical collaborator Graham Nash. In a recent interview with San Diego Union-Tribune, David Crosby confirmed that his iconic band, Crosby, Stills and Nash is “on indefinite hold,” before revealing that Nash’s 2013 memoir is the source of his strained relationship with his former friend.
“Graham’s book is full of inaccuracies and chock-full of misinformation. When he handed [an advance copy] to me, he said, ‘It’s too late to change anything, but here it is.’ I was very unhappy about it. It’s a very shallow, very self-serving book, and full of BS. Chock-full.”
Crosby accuses Nash of writing “things that were not true because they would sell the book.” David pointed to several passages in Nash’s book, Wild Tales: A Rock & Roll Life, in which he accuses the author of taking way too much creative license. Crosby slammed an inaccurate story about a wild 3,000 mile ride on his boat in 1970, as well as Graham’s story that he interrupted Crosby while he was getting special “room service” in a hotel room.
“It sounds good in his book. He did that, repeatedly, and said things that were not true, because they would sell the book.”
Jan 26, 2019 “David Crosby: Remember My Name,” directed by debut feature documentary filmmaker A.J. Eaton, tracks the life and exploits of the legendary musician. The film is screening as part of this year. David Crosby's house (Santa Ynez): 'It's an adobe ranch house out here in the valley with a lot of trees around it. It's really pretty. We wrote Lighthouse here. And we made the demos for it here. Mar 18, 2020 One such musician is none other than Rock and Roll Hall of Famer David Crosby, who recently told GQ that he stands to lose his home if his upcoming tours are scrapped. “Because, you know they don’t pay us for records anymore, right? So touring is all we got,” Crosby explained. “That’s really the only thing that we can do to make any.

Graham Nash also recently talked about his estrangement from David Crosby, but he did not go into detail about the reasons behind it. But in an interview with Billboard earlier this month, Graham announced that his long musical partnership with David Crosby is over.
“In my world, there will never, ever be a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young record and there will never be another Crosby, Stills and Nash record or show….Right now, I don’t want anything to do with Crosby at all. It’s just that simple.”

Graham also ranted about Crosby to the Dutch magazine Lust for Life. According to Rolling Stone, Nash said Crosby has “been awful” to him over the past two years.
“I don’t like David Crosby right now. He’s been awful for me the last two years, just f*cking awful. I’ve been there and saved his f*cking a** for 45 years, and he treated me like sh*t. You can’t do that to me.”
David Crosby previously had a falling out with ex-CSNY bandmate Neil Young after he called Young’s girlfriend Darryl Hannah a “poisonous predator.” Crosby later apologized to Young and admitted he was out of line with his comment, but it doesn’t sound like there will be any reconciliation with Nash in the near future.
“Graham has been pretty much of a [expletive] to me, for a while. Traktor pro effects list. I would not say that’s the only reason, but we’re definitely giving it [CSN] a rest.”
In fact, David Crosby is not waiting around to patch things up with Nash. David said he has been working on a ton of solo music and has enough material for two new albums. David also said his life without Graham is the happiest he has been in a long time.
“What happened is that, for some reason — maybe because I’m happy now — I’ve had this genesis, the biggest burst of songs I’ve written in the longest time. So I’m making two solo records, and they’re really good.”

Crosby also told the Union-Tribune he didn’t want to elaborate too much more on his falling out with his former musical partner and would prefer to focus on the future.
“I don’t want to even go there. I’m going to take the high road. I’m very, very happy. And I’m extremely happy the music is coming to me in such a wonderful way. “
